WEEKEND IFR FINISH-UP PROGRAM
I developed this program for the numerous pilots that have started their IFR training with another instructor, but just haven’t been able to finish it. I offer a 3 day program that completes all the FAA requirements, prepares you to pass the oral exam and gets you ready to pass the checkride. I have a 95% pass rate but your success depends on you.
Prior to arrival, you must have:
- Passed the IFR Knowledge test
- Completed the IFR cross- country
- Logged 30 hours of IFR/Hood training
- Completed 50 hours of PIC cross-country time
- Read my syllabus cover to cover before you arrive
This is what I will do:
DAY 1- 8 Hours
- Prepare you to pass the oral exam
- Fill in the gaps from previous instructors
- Review weather
- Review approach plates, SIDS, STARS and en-route charts
- Mock Oral
DAY 2- 8 Hours (Simulator)
- Teach you a useable instrument scan
- Teach you Garmin 430 procedures and GPS approaches
- Teach you ILS approaches
- Teach you VOR approaches
- Teach you a 3 step holding procedure
- Uncover and correct procedural weaknesses
- Review the checkride based on 1350 previous successful IFR students
DAY 3- 8 Hours (Airplane)
- Review all approaches expected on the checkride
- Review Holding procedures
- Practice unusual attitude recovery
- Practice partial panel approach
- Mock Checkride
TAKE THE INSTRUMENT PRACTICAL TEST
Obviously a 3 day program cannot teach you everything you need to know to be a competent IFR pilot. My program reviews all your previous instrument training and I use my expertise to fill in any gaps in your knowledge. My goal is to take what you already know and polish it to the point that you meet the Instrument Airplane Practical Test Standards. This is an IFR finish up program, not a complete IFR training program. If you are not ready after 3 days, I will spend the time necessary for you to meet the Practical Test Standards.
FEE: $1800.00 (in your airplane) Extra Days $695
